Rules and regulations:
  1. The event is divided into two parts :
    Photo Series
    Single Photograph
  2. It is an individual event.
  3. Topic to the participants will be disclosed on the spot.
  4. It is mandatory for the participant to be present during the briefing of the event.


General Rules:
  1. All participants must report on time.
  2. Judges’ decision is final and binding.
  3. All rules are subject to change.

SHORT-FILM MAKING

“I didn’t go to any film school...I went to films” - Quentin Tarantino

Do you often find yourself immersed in this world? Almost everything you experience, somehow finds itself into your projects. Have you ever wondered what would it feel like if this was not only your passion, but also your profession? Zest’17 aims to provide you the first stepping stone. Be ready to challenge yourself for we have carefully crafted this event purely to check if you have what it takes. Dust up your imagination, polish your creativity and clean that lens. It is time to film.



Team Size: 2 to 5


Rules and regulations:

Requirements (to be brought by the participants):

• Laptop
• Pen- drives

Rounds:

Elimination and Final.

Eliminations:
  • Each team will be given 4-5 unrelated pictures on the day of the event, using which they have to spin a story and write a script.
  • Time Alloted: 30 minutes


  • Judging Criteria
    1. Creativity
    2. Innovation
    3. Engaing writing style
    4. Incorporation of given pictures
    5. Originality


    Finals:

    6 Finalists will have to make a short film based on the theme/element given to them. Following the screening of each film, there will be an open discussion over it. Points will be given for quality criticism and questioning by the other participating teams.
    Time Limit: 5-7 minutes (Including credits)
    Theme: To be revealed after eliminations



    Judging Criteria
    1. Editing, Cinematography, Script (originality), Acting, sound effects, overall impact
    2. Creativity of the video presentation
    3. Clarity and relevance of content
    4. Persuasiveness
    5. Justification, reasoning and explanations given to the questions asked and criticisms raised.


    General Rules
    1. You may use any video camera you deem suitable for shooting the movie. However, we strongly discourage low-resolution cameras, including webcams and mobile-phone cameras.
    2. Entries must be the original work of the entrant and must not infringe third-party's rights.
    3. The content of the movie should be appropriate for public screening and thus have no vulgarity.
    4. Obscenity (at the discretion of the judges) of any kind is not allowed and will lead to immediate disqualification.
    5. Please avoid photo animation, slideshows, remixes, spoofs and advertisements.
    6. Plagiarism is strictly prohibited. Sound tracks (no max time limit) and stock footage (time limit : max of 1 mins ) can be borrowed, but with due credits.
    7. The decision of the judges will be final and binding.
