RULES AND REGULATIONS
  • Team size: 3 members
  • This is a team event
  • Speaking order will be as follows: The Prime minister followed by the first opposition member, the minister of The Crown then a member of The House of Lords followed by leader of the opposition and second opposition member. Finally, The Prime Minister will deliver the government rebuttal
  • Maximum speaking time is 5 minutes for PM's first speech, 2.5 minutes each for the other two members, 4 minutes for the leader of opposition and 2 minutes each for the other two members
  • Points of Information are raised while another Member has the floor (i.e. is speaking). If a Member wishes to raise a Point of Information, he/she should stand and with one hand on their head and another pointing forward (in teapot-style) and say: “On that point”. The person who is speaking may refuse to take the point saying: “Not at this time.” Alternatively, they may to choose to take the point. If the speaker refuses the point, the Member raising the POI must sit down. Otherwise, they should deliver their point as succinctly as possible ( 15 seconds) Often the point is phrased as a question. All speakers should attempt to both deliver at least one POI and to accept one POI during the course of the debate
  • The first and last minute of each constructive speech is considered protected time during which no POIs can be made. In addition, no POIs may be made during the Prime Minister’s final rebuttal or during the last three minutes of the Leader of the Opposition’s speech (also considered rebuttal time)
  • Props (e.g. drawings, models) may not be used
  • Courtesy must be shown to all other Members at all times
  • Topic will be disclosed in the first week of January
  • Marks will be deducted for exceeding the time limit
  • Participants will be disqualified for using slangs and unparliamentary expression
  • Judges' decision shall be final and biding

RULES AND REGULATIONS
ROUND 1: ELIMINATION ROUND
  • Each team will be given a topic on the day of the event,using which they will have to spin a story and write a script
  • 30 minutes of time will be allotted

ROUND 2: FINAL ROUND
  • Six finalists will have to make a short film based on the theme/element given to them on spot, time limit (allotted) for preparing the Short film wiill be 30 minutes.
  • Following the screening of each film, there will be an open discussion over it points will be given for quality criticism and questioning by fellow teams
  • Time limit: 5-7 minutes (including credits)

RULES AND REGULATIONS
  • This is a team event.
  • Team Size: 2 members
  • All material required by the participants will be provided by the organisers
  • Entire event is to be conducted in British English
  • Correct spellings in American English will award only half the points
  • Participants can ask for the origin, meaning and usage of the word in a sentence
  • Organisers have the right do disqualify teams, if necessary

ROUND 1
  • Each team will get a word to be spelled correctly within a time limit of 15 seconds
  • Teams can pass the word to the next team
  • Correct spelling of a passed word will earn a team only half the points
  • Each team will get 3 turns during the first round
  • 4 teams will be disqualified at the end of the round


ROUND 2
  • A sheet will be provided to the qualified teams, containing text with spelling errors
  • Teams will get 2 minutes to and correct the spelling mistakes proofread
  • 4 teams will be disqualified at the end of Round 2


ROUND 3
  • Teams will be provided with buzzers
  • First team to press the buzzer after the word is pronounced will get the chance to spell the word
  • If a team spells the word incorrectly, next team to press the buzzer will get the chance
  • Only one chance will be given to spell the word


ROUND 4
  • Top 4 teams will make it to the fourth and final round
  • This round has a quiz related to linguistics, phonetics and words in general

RULES AND REGULATIONS
  • This is an individual event.
  • Participants must report at the venue one hour prior to the event.
  • Participants will be grouped in a set of 4. Each group will run for 10 minutes. (Jammers will get 1 minute to think about the topic , one minute for each jammer to speak and then 5 minute of debate on that topic)
  • Three Golden Rules applicable as follows:
    • HESITATION
    • REPETITTION
    • DEVIATION
  • To object participants must press the buzzer and say ‘JAM’. The Jam master decides when you are allowed to put forth your objection.
  • JAM master might employ ‘SPECIAL RULES’ which must be followed.
  • participants will be getting a penalty if the competition objects any of the following counts-
    • Participant objects out of turn.
    • You stutter, stammer and generally indulge in ‘time wasting tactics’. These include efforts to buy time like interspersing your talk with ‘UHH’, ‘AHH’, etc.
    • Early start and late start.
    • Speaking too fast or too slow.
    • Grammatical errors.
    • Undue stress on words, undue emphasis in the sentences.
    • Repetition of a previously used idea.
    • Not following the ‘SPECIAL RULES’ as set by the JAM master.
  • Organising committee has the right to alter the rules, change or cancel the time, venue and the event itself.

RULES AND REGULATIONS
  • This is an individual event with only entry per participant
  • Poetry can be either in Hindi or in English
  • Participants have to mail their entries to slampoetry20@gmail.com latest by 14 January 2020
  • Only selected participants will perform on stage
  • Each entry must be the original work of the particpant. Plagiarism (from copyright work or an internet publication e.g.Wordpress blogs/Watt pad blogs) would lead to disqualification
  • Each participants will get 5 minutes to recite his/her poem; exceeding the time limit may lead to Deduction of points
  • Content should not be defamatory/ abusive towards any race, religion, community, person or place
  • Decision of the judge(s) shall be final and binding
