RULES AND REGULATIONS
  • It is an individual event
  • No musical instrument/tools are allowed
  • All sounds that can be made from human vocal organs are approved
  • Any dangerous physical contact on stage will result in immediate expulsion of the participant
  • Decision of the judge(s) shall be final and binding
  • The event comprises of two rounds: elimination round followed by the final round
ROUND 1: ELIMINATION ROUND
  • Each participant will be given a maximum of 3 minutes to perform (including the sound check)
  • In case any participant exceeds the time limit, negative markingwill be done
  • Selected participants will go to the next round
ROUND 2: FACE OFF
  • Selected finalists will qualify for the face-off round
  • Participants will be divided in groups of two for the face-off round
  • Each competitor will get 30 seconds to perform in face-off, twice. (First A then B,then repeat)
  • Face-offs will be continued till the final winner is decided
  • In case of a tie, the tie-breaker round will be introduced

For the preliminary round of the competition, each individual has to send their 1-minute rap video to rapwarszest2020@gmail.com. Attach video/subject of the email should be 'rap wars entry', along with name, college and other details in the body

GENERAL RULES
  • Do not bile (copy) someone else’s work. Your freestyle must be 100 percent original material and shall not infringe upon third parties copyrighted material, trademarks or other intellectual property rights,nor shall it contain any vulgar words and sexually explicit lyrics
  • The language and dialect to be used in the battle is either English, Hindi, Tagalog or Taglish
  • Lyrics of the rap (punchlines) should focus more on humour whether you mock or ridicule your opponent. The punchlines must not harm an individual’s identity, colour, caste or religion
  • The organiser/promoter will appoint a time keeper. He/she will be provided with a stop watch and will be responsible for indicating the end of each round. The clock starts ticking from the first line spoken by the competitor
  • By participating in this event, you permit the recording of your contribution and assign to the organisers the complete copyright and all other rights in your contribution for use in all media.
  • Competitors who are rude, abusive, racist or deemed otherwise unsuitable by the organisers will be disqualified from the competition
RULES AND REGULATIONS

Preliminary round will happen during registration, where each participant has to send a 1-minute rap video, they will then be selected for the event for the following rounds.

ROUND 1
  • Each rapper will get a minute to showcase a pre-prepared rap performance.
  • He/she has to bring their own beats for this round.
  • This performance will not be judged
Purpose
  • To showcase the rapper’s individual talent
  • To enable them to gain support of the crowd
  • To let competitors judge each other and use certain strengths and weakness in the battle


ROUND 2
  • Each rapper will compete against each other in pairs. Pairs will be selected on chit basis system on-spot
  • Each individual will get 2 chances. In the first chance, there will be no beats, the opponents have to freestyle and diss/trash-talk each other
  • In the second chance, the DJ will play a beat and the 2 competitors will have to rap on it. Each rapper will get 30 second for every chance. There will be a time keeper keeping time and informing the competitors when the time runs out


ROUND 3
  • 2 people will be short-listed and will face each other like the second round, except there will be 3 chances, the first chance will have no beats
  • In the other 2 chances, the DJ will provide the beats
  • Decision of the judge(s) shall be final and binding

RULES AND REGULATIONS
ROUND 1: Preliminary Round
  • This round has two categories: English and Hindi
  • Participants have to submit their audio recording (MP3 or MP4 format) of 2-3 minutes via email on pitchperfect@zestxaviers.in last by 12 January 2020
  • Selected candidates will be contacted by the organizers
  • Use of vulgar language may lead to disqualification
  • Both the categories will be judged separately

ROUND 2: Final Round
  • This round is also divided in two categories- English and Hindi
  • Maximum time limit for the song will be 7 minutes including stage set up
  • Participants can bring only one instrument or an instrumentalist
  • Only the vocalist/singer will be judged and not the instrumentalist
  • Karaoke is allowed; karaoke should reach team pitch perfect one hour prior to the competition
  • Use of derogatory language is prohibited
  • Decision of the judge(s) will be final and binding

  • It is an elimination round where participants will play solo (of their choice)
  • Time limit: 120 seconds

ROUND 2
  • This is an elimination round
  • In this round, the participant will jam on a track/bass line played to them on the spot
  • Time limit: 90-120 seconds

ROUND 3
  • This round will be a dual round or face-off round
  • Two participants at a time will battle against each other on drums
  • Decision of the judge(s) shall be final and binding

RULES & REGULATIONS
  • The participants are required to submit a non-stop MIXTAPE of 6 tracks (Duration of 7-8 mins) of their choice (of any genre) cosmodrop20@gmail.com latest by 9th January 2020.
  • On basis of entries received the top 8 participants will be selected for the event.
  • On stage time will be 15 minutes (including set up time) if the time limit exceeds participants will be marked negatively.
  • Participants can use any genre of the choice
  • No recorded set will be allowed.
  • No participant will be allowed to bring his of her own console.

General Instructions (Entry Level)
  • Participants must send one video for online audition for preliminary round at echoeszest20@gmail.com
  • Each entry may have one or two songs but not more than two songs recorded by the Bands.
  • Original compositions will gain more preference over plain covers of existing songs.
  • Please note that the round of performances held on the day of the event is the final performance round. There will not be a second round after the event.

RULES AND REGULATIONS
  • The order of performances would be decided and time slots will be allotted to each band in the same order during this time. Bands are welcome to come early and enjoy the activities on-site before the competition.
  • There should be a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 8 performing members in a band
  • If all members of your band are not present backstage 15 minutes prior to the time you are assigned to perform, your act will be disqualified.
  • Maximum time limit of performance of every band shall be 15 minutes only including set up time. 5% of total marks shall be deducted for each extra minute, if the time limit is exceeded.
  • Sound will be disconnected after 17 minutes. Time limit must be strictly adhered to.
  • he organizers will not be held accountable for any broken equipment, injuries, or any other negative occurrences outside of our staff’s control.
  • Extra points will be provided if a band performs a fusion of different genre
  • Obscenity (at the discretion of judges) and foul language of any kind is not allowed and will lead to disqualification.
  • The use of any illegal substances will not be tolerated. If any band member is suspected to be under the influence of an illegal substance, the entire band will be disqualified and the proper authorities will be notified.
  • The decision of the judges will be final and binding and no arguments against it shall be entertained.

JUDGEMENT CRITERIA

    Interface with audience

  • Did the band interact with the audience?
  • Did they members interact during the performance?
  • Originality

  • Do the songs fit the genre, how unique do the songs sound, do the songs fit the set?
  • Is the band’s appearance original, and does the band stand out?
  • Does the band demonstrate any level of original improvisational skill? For example, ‘jam out’ or vocal through an instrument change, repair or equipment failure.
  • Quality of Performance

  • How well thought out are the lyrics and does the music fit the band’s genre?
  • How was the bands confidence and competence, did they look at ease while playing, did they appear to be able to do what they wanted to do?
  • How was the bands stage presence, did they use the stage effectively, did the band appear positive about their performance, did the band interact effectively on stage, how did the band cope with any problems they may have encountered?
  • Was the bands set list well-constructed and able to manipulate the audience’s mood?
  • Presentation

  • Does the bands attitude appear suitable to their genre? For example, were they “Punk” if Punk, “Raucous” if Rock?
  • How did the audience respond to the band’s performance? The cheer level at the request of the event coordinator.
